Dammit, I’m 10 minutes from going to the pond.

    Nice fish!

I’ll be happy with 20″ down here.

I didn’t have a tape measure, but I’d suspect it was around 17″-18″. Yes, I was targeting smallmouth.

Landed this monster on Lake Alice Feb 2nd. Don’t let the small appearing size fool you, I’m 10 ft tall and weigh 5550 lbs.

You guys are killing me. I might have to risk drowning or being bit by a reptile and hit the neighborhood pond again.

I’ve had bass on the brain since my last post. I am trying the ponds tomorrow morning. I can’t wait for the Preserve to finish renovations to go and try that pond. If I never post again, know that I was eaten by a gator doing what I love.

I missed opener on Mille Lacs, but made it up there by myself last Thursday. Caught about 30 bass, with 11 of those 20 inches or bigger. The two biggest were 21 1/2.

Bass on! I’ve primarily fished for panfish, but my mom has recently got me hooked on catching bass!

Best fish of the season so far. This guy was way back in the pads, about 5 feet to the right of where my popper landed. I gave it one good “bloop” and then the water just bulged as the fish charged. It wasn’t easy to let it happen and not set the hook to soon! I was using my 8 weight, a floating line, and one of my furled leaders. The tippet was 12 # Maxim so I could lean on this fish all the sway back to the boat.
