Anyone fish the MS River, LaCrosse area for Sturgeon? I am new to the area and was going out the next two days and wondering if it would be worth a try.

Greg, what a great fish and I love how you take three guys to hold it. Making sure it’s handled well to be caught another day!

Croix is open right now and I didn’t catch any fish bigger than I’ve caught there… So if your looking for something to do between now and your trip north…

OnePosts: 100April 12, 2016 at 11:36 pm #1613274Not monsters but the two biggest sturgeon of my life 45″ (tagged) and 50″ respectively-left to right. Caught (and released) last week in tough conditions on the Rainy River.

rschmidtyPosts: 173April 17, 2016 at 10:40 pm #1614041We just got back from the Rainy River. It was a great trip for our group with a lot of people breaking that 60 inch barrier for the first time but this one was the last fish caught in our boat and by our group on the last day! Ben came away with the fish of a lifetime measuring 71×31! It was an intense 18 minute battle that I was glad to be apart of and helping get that beast into the boat. She was released and swam away strong.

We sure do have some immature fisheries that people feel great about… I’ll give you that.
Great fish guys.
September 6, 2016 at 8:13 pm #1637981Sturgies are starting to come around more. Been catchin them all summer, but this was the most productive trip since early August with 7 fish caught. It can only get better from here!
