The early spring is a great time right after spawning but the lake water temp has to warm up a little. The big pike are shallow and very hungry about 7 days after spawning which is in the end of May in the Lynn Lake area. August fishing for big pike is like fishing for big muskies in August only you catch many more big pike than you would muskie in a week.
