Well today was better for bigger fish for guide guests. Got back up to the mid twenties for Walleye and we got to see the 17-19 inch saugers return. It is such a blast to hear first time ice walleye/sauger fisherpersons holler “I got one !!!!!” again and again …

Yesterday they kept knocking keepers off on the bottom of the ice and today they slowed down and did it right. Only one nice perch today. Both wolf river rigs in current and jigging raps did about equal damage… and today we caught fish on about 5 different color/patterns of raps. Captain Hook’s had some really large walleye flatheads today.

    Happy Hook-ups Lawrence

Thanks for the report. I’d love to come up and hit the ice up there some time. Are you guys fishing where the Clements fishing barge is? How’s the ice holding up?

I’m ready to put the boat in at Blackhawk. When’s a good time to get up there? Mid April?

Most years the channel ice is gone by second weekend in March.
