Took the dad and a friend out Saturday without a whole lot of sucess. Worked a few wingdams with nothing to show for it. We did find a couple sauger and a pair of nice walleye trolling. But I did take the family out today and ran into a stripey smorgasboard below the dam. The kids, including myself, had a blast. Fish after fish for a good couple hours, and they were still going when we left.
I did talk to a couple guys who have been doing very well trolling. One said he took 16 and the other guy took 10, mostly saugers. I can only get my boat to troll down to about 1.8mph against current and these guys were trolling at 1.4 or less. I think I need a drift sock or just use the electric. Either way it sounds like the party is starting on 16.
