Went to lynxville at first light. Made 4 passes before the river became a road of ice. Lets just say it wasn’t fun getting back to the ramp.
The water was really dirty and not bite to be found in those 4 passes.
So on to guttenburg! Launched about 12:30, spent a couple hours pounding the bottom for nothing! Went back to the Iowa side for one more pass when the DNR came down to pull out of their docks. He side the river will come up about 4 Feet. By the time we left, they had opened 2 of the rollers wide open! Both dams they seem to open the rollers every 20 minutes to let the ice go! I cannot stress enough, be careful!!!

Ditto Mike-thanks a ton for the update! dismal, though it is…

I checked the corp’s flow data for dam 10 b4 leaving the office yesterday evening and according to their web data, it appeared all the gates were up.

Sunday may be too soon to head out, based on what I’m hearing. Might just have to catch up on honey-dos this weekend.

They are flood control/navigation dams, after all…
