I was out on Pool 11 Sunday and ran across a boat that limited out on Northerns fishing backwater springs. As a kicker they also caught 3 walleyes with the biggest being 27 inches. The water depth was approximately 7 to 8 feet deep. Have any of you had any luck fishing walleyes around springs? Note: The northerns they caught were real hawgs!

That is pretty typical in pool 3 this time of year in the backwaters. If you notice, their are plenty of shiners and shad around these areas as well. I believe that the cooler water can carry a bit more O2 than the warmer stuff. We have a spring that flows into the Vermillion River here that can give up many pike over 20# in the summer during dog days. As a matter of fact, I may head down there tonight!
