Vexilar Fishscout cam to TV

  • #2005667

I have a fishscout vex cam that has a video out cable. In our ice house, there is a prewired coax cables with female “F-type” connectors. I thought it would have been as easy as plugging in a male video out to male F Type adapter, but nothing happens. The camera gets some type of feedback and nothing on the TV (even after scanning channels on the TV).

I have however been able to plug in a video out cable to the camera and tv and selecting the tv’s input to “AV” and had luck. I wanted to avoid more cables and wanted to utilize the built in prewired cables. I tried calling Vexilar and they didnt have any experience connecting through a F type connector.

Unless you have an older TV with an analog TV tuner, you won’t be able to convert the signal. If you have an analog TV tuner, you will need an RF modulator. It will take the signal from the RCA yellow cable and convert it so you’ll see the video signal on channel 3 or 4, depending on the setting on the modulator.

Did you go to inputs in your tv menu?
