UTV carrying 2 people falls through ice on Pelican Lake

    Will people ever learn?

    Two people made it safely to shore after a UTV they were riding on went through the ice on Pelican Lake in 20fow near Indian Mounds Resort on Tuesday evening.

    Yeah I wouldn’t go on Pelican, Cormorant, Ottertail, or maybe even Crystal-Lida. I’ve seen pictures of 8 inches of ice two feet away from 1 inch of ice. Should be fine after the weekend.

    I was thinking the wrong Pelican Lake, but still in the neighborhood where the ice has been all over the place.

    Indian Mounds Resort is on Pelican Lake Near Ashby, MN in Ottertail County.

    Pretty sure I just saw a report that Pelican had open water in the middle like two days ago.

    I have a neighbor that has been using his e-bike this winter to get out on the lake by our house.
