Unit for mapping

    Thinking about upgrading a unit just for mapping. I have a LMS 332 c that is 5” and thinking about getting a used 7” or 9” unit for mapping. What series would be good for this ?
    Any suggestions for a good used model for this application?

    I’ve been running a helix seven for the last six or seven years. It works good for what I need it to do

    Is this in addition to the HDS 9 gen 3 you recently got? If so, I would recommend staying with a Lowrance HDS unit since you already have one. That way you can connect them via ethernet.
    Or NMEA.

    Yes, this will be an addition to the HDS I purchased. I’ll look for a nice HDS7. I should probably look at Gen2 or 3 right ?

    Yes
    I would lean towards a Gen 3. Better and more current mapping options.
