Illinois vs Iowa. Illinois won 9 to 2. It’s a tug of war across the Mississippi River. The rope weighs 680 lbs. and the rope is 2700 ft. long. There is 20 persons teams and I believe they have to all be in weight limit. They all pull the rope to see who can get more rope to one side and be come the winner. Both men’s team and the women’s team work there behinds off. It is a sport for the young at heart!!! The tug is between Port Byron, Ill and LeClaire, Ia. I think it was a another great year for the towns.
