Trolling reel question

I bought 2 Diawa sealine greatlakes 47 size reels over the winter for $20 each and the guy used them for leadcore. I will be trolling mostly shallow so I don’t really need or want to get into the leadcore trolling so should I just fill the reels up with 10lb mono or whatever braid I decide to use? I also have a sealine 27 that I got for $30 and would rather have that size but it seems like the Great Lakes aren’t the most popular reels and go for cheap so since I already have them I figure I might as well use them until I decide to fully commit to trolling. Thanks for help in advance.

If these reels already still have lead on them and you still have some space on the spools, you might consider just spooling a couple hundred feet of your preferred trolling line over that. A 47 size will hold a lot of line.

I didn’t consider that thanks for the idea I will have to check when I get home.
