Went out and hit the canal on Mon and Wed, wind and all. Mon I had to work with the high banks channeling the wind in my face, but managed 1 whitey and 4 saugs, all short.
Wed, I only crappie fished for an hour but got about 12-14, then went for saugers again. The water went from 45 to 50 in 2 days, and I just don’t think those saugers were there. I tried and tried, couldn’t come up with any. Talked to another guy, he had only 1 18″ fish. Gonna be postspawn time in the canal real soon, so I hope I can find their haunts. Gonna be fun.
