Big Spirit in IA

    Anything going on out there?

    The IA fishing report has not been very promising lately.

    Wondering if anyone has anything to report

    Spirit is slow, been reports of a few walleyes being caught at night casting jigs and ripple shads. I have been on West Okoboji the last couple of days catching gills, they are deep 30-35 feet. Some perch and yellow bass being caught in the weeds 12-17 ft.

    The way I have been seeing pictures from Kabeles trading post they are getting some nice eyes out of big spirit. Also been seeing some nice yellows coming out of boji!

    i threw back more walleyes last sunday on bitter lake in 4 hours than i think was caught in spirit lake all weekend. I fished both lakes that weekend, we were on spirit and there was no bite. we marked fish, i seen one fish caught all morning, from 6 am till noon, till we packed up and went to bitter……

    night time (9pm till about 3 am) at spirit is decent tho…

    Heading down to spirit this weekend for some fun and hopefully fishing, any reports out there on the bite? When? Where? What? Thanks for any info.

    Haven’t fished it in over a year
    Been spending my available time fishing in South Dakota

    So we only ended up fishing for a few hours Saturday morning, caught 8 nice walleye, no keepers, but didn’t really mind.

    Thanks! It was such a beautiful weekend, didn’t matter what we did! Lots of fun had with a couple bonus walleye!
