Sitka Gear

I have a gift card burning a hole in my pocket and want to pick up some Sitka stuff. I’m looking at either the Timberline Jacket (on sale for $174), or the Fanatic Hoodie. I do a lot of pheasant hunting in South Dakota, so there the windbreaker of the Timberline might be nice, but on the other hand the Fanatic would be a great mid-layer year round. Wondering what others think? Thanks ahead of time!

I like the grinder hoodie better than the fanatic for all purpose use. It’s got polartec hardface so it’s slightly more durable and wind resistant.

Sitka Jetstream is my go to pheasant jacket.

If you’re mainly chasing pheasants, I’d go with the timberline. I think the hood/neck gaiter and finger warmers of the fanatic would be pretty much useless for you. There’s cheaper options for just a cold weather base layer.

    I vote Timberline.
