When fishing a Sebile Vibrato has anyone ever tipped the hooks ? that delicate fluttering fall seems to drive fish mad but have also had lots of lookers that won’t commit & wonder if adding some “meat” would draw more strikes but worry that would hamper the lures action.

    Gary,

I have never done it because it messes up the action. They work extremely well and almost never tangle; this ends when you tip them. If you see fish are cautious about hitting them, use a smaller size. That usually works.

I tip them all the time and have had amazing success. Personally, the reason I’ve tipped mine is that the stock hooks on some of them tend to flip over the top of the bait and get caught which ruins the action and this is from simply jigging lightly – could be a defect but just my personal experience
