Please note that once again this year, we will be holding this tournament for the kids of St. Paul. Details are still being ironed out, but please put us on your calendar again this year.

    Summary:
We are looking for boaters willing to take out 1-2 kids and 1 adult chaperone for a 1/2 day of fishing on the St. Croix. This years event will be Saturday, June 1. We’ve had a great turn out the last two years and looking forward to it again in 2019.

Please watch this post for details and links to sign up as a boater!!

    I’m in! )

You can launch anywhere but be at Beanies dock by 7:15 am.

    No entry fee.

It is a fun tourney June 1, from 8 am to back at Beanies a noon.

It’s you and your first mate ( a capable fishing friend to assist fishing efforts).

You will take out two people either youth(s) or a law officer. We normally have from 20 – 25 boats total.

You need four life jackets, bait, and rods ready to go.

It’s a four largest walleye event AND biggest sheepshead. Two catagories.

Lastly – it’s one of those things that when i’m done, I think “I’m glad it did that.”

Email either Eric or me for more details or to sign up.

Is it required to have a mate this year? Years past you guys would throw an adult in for my boat with the kids.

    Nick,

Hello!! No not required.. but “everybody” told me they wanted a known to them first mate, and it was a sticking point to get boat captains (guys wanted some help in the boat).
So we decided to have boat captains bring ” a friend” to help loading and unloading their boat and with fishing duties.

So no you can come single, good question.

    THANK-YOU!

I plan to do it again this year also.

Was hoping we could start a cannon ball competition. We will use SteveO’s motor as the diving platform and will meet just south of the RR bridge.

    SteveO,
Can you make sure to bring your swim ladder this year? -)

How long with no wake would it take to get down to the RR bridge from bayport?

Trying to get game plan for new location.

At 5 mph, it’s about 30 minutes! Plan for some fun activities during the ride! Show the kids the electronics, have some snacks ready!

    Turk,
Thanks goes to you for organizing this event. This was my second year participating and is a highlite of my summer. This year my co-pilot (John Bendlin) and I got to share my boat with Anthony (St Paul Police) and Somanja (sp?) a recent high school graduate. No big walleyes but still got a few fish.

Thanks to all you guys who put it on Turk.

Another fun year. Weather shaped up nicely just as the boats set off.
