    Hi there…

Wondering about the best way to repair a rod tip line guide. The ceramic ferulle seems to have broken out. Can the ferrule be replaced or does the whole house need to be replaced?

    Thanks!

Replacing the whole tip is incredibly simple and there are a lot of options available. It would probably be a lot more complicated to source the exact replacement for the insert.

They don’t sell replacement ceramic inserts. So your best option is to replace the tip as one. Super easy to do or bring it into Thorne Brothers or a place similar and they can fix it for you in minutes.

Replacing the whole tip is easy but another way to do it is to search through your junk/broken rods if you have any, find a ferrule the same size as the one you’re missing, pop it out and pop it in where you’re missing one. I’ve done it several times and it works. I keep old or broken rods just for that reason.
