Apparently this is just a blanket warning. Mind your P’s and Q’s in all you do and you can ignore this warning…..other-wise, these bad-boys are simply warning you.
Actually there is an article in the newspaper {Rochester’s Post Bulletin} tonight asking that persons in the Rochester area stay off the ice.

The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Department is the latest to issue a warning about thin ice. The department is especially concerned about the several flood control reservoirs in the county. While ice has formed on bodies of water across the area, the recent warm weather has weakened much of it and it is no longer considered safe. The same warning has been issued by other law enforcement agencies around most of the state after a run of above-average temperatures that has lasted several days.
December 16, 2006 at 1:30 am #511884As CT says, play it safe. Be cautious if you go on the ice this weekend. Don’t go by yourself and use an ice spud to check the ice ahead of where you will be walking. Sounds like next week will get everything shaped up. Highs around 30 and lows in the teens starting Monday.
