Around Rochester? Not right off hand. With all the rain the reservoirs are likely to be higher than normal and that can make getting around shorelines a wet venture.

The big river is on its way up with all the rain too. Shore accessible backwater areas will be falling under water pretty quick. Lake City’s breakwater and government pier are fishable for the time being. Lake Zumbro’s public docks near Fisherman’s Inn can have fish holding within a cast.

Options for shore fishing are running thin.

Look for 60 degree water just off a dead tree or a willow on a steep bank…or north shore of a black bottom shallow lake just after iceout. Beaver lodges are good early choice too if your water’s still cold. We like the shore at Eagles Nest Lake on the Father of Waters near Pigs Eye St. Paul plant. You can reach it by shore in winter, boats now.

Shore!? What shore!? With all the friggen rain we’ve had and keep getting, shore is getting harder and harder to find! Like it or not, might have to set the rod holders up and fish from the ark(lol)!
