Anyone have any experience with these augers. They have “ice wings” suppose to help or eliminate catching at bottom of hole at break through.

I just bought a Synthetic Ultra 8″. I haven’t been able to cut any ice yet, but I can tell you it is really, really light. And for under $200 it’s way cheaper than a full new auger setup.
DanDecember 17, 2023 at 8:02 pm #2242432I bought a Synthetic Ultra 8″ last year and mounted it to a Clam Plate and my Ridgid drill. Cuts like butter and the “wings” on the bottom allow no kickback when breaking through the bottom of the hole. I moved from the first gen Pistol bit to this and love it. Leaving Wednesday morning for Red to punch some holes.

I’d go Razr, pistol bit or this Ion bit for a steal
