P4 Fishing on 1/27

    P4 fishing was a bit slow today (1/27) but this was my first open water walleye of 2011. She was almost as fat as a football and is out there swimming for the next angler to catch and release her. After a nice visit with Dean at Everts Resort, Mitch and I got this one vertical jigging on our second drift.

    The ramps were open and very well kept. Thanks go to Everts for providing us with an escape from winter cabin fever.

    I was just looking at another picture of that fish and it does strongly resemble a football. She must have gotten fat from eating all those Everts plastics. Or could it have eaten a badly thrown Favre football that went into the river and drifted down to P4?

    Nice fish! I am hoping to make my first trip to Everts in the next month or so, looking forward to open water fishing in winter!

    Way to go. That is a dandy eye! I’m oficially jealous. Was planning on heading down tomorrow but got wrangled into a work meeting at 3:30 tomorrow afternoon. Looks like another Friday night in the shack.

    Good to see you at the WS meeting tonight Dave, way to start out the 2011 season with a dandy eye!

    We will have to make sure to wet a line together this year.
