Okay here is a question to all the guides out there. Is there now a regulation that says that you need to be certified by the Coast Guard to guide? I know you need a state guide license as I have had this in the past but have heard that this year you need to CG cert.

    Thanks,

    Bear,

If you are taking a group of 6 or larger, I believe the answer is yes, and the License is a Captains!!! so keep the groups small! As you know the Captains license is a big deal, no nubber stamp program. The waters that would appply are the St. Croix , Mississippi and other U.S. Coast Guard regulated waters.

Maybe there is a change but I doubt it?

If you do any guiding, regardless of number of people, on lake Michigan or Green Bay, you will need a captians license.
