    The commercial sturgeon netters are back at it below the New Boston dam. Haven’t been down there yet but from what I read, nearly the whole migration route to the dam for walleyes/saugers is blocked with nets. Starting at the Iowa side. If you decide to go to the dam anyway, take a very sharp knife with you just incase of entaglement with a net. Don’t risk a chance of drowning trying to untangle webbing from your prop.

    Herb, really is a shame that apparently theres nothing anyone can do about it. Just doesn’t make any sense to me.

    One easy thing that can be done is to write your State Legislature:

    Perhaps they will reopen market hunting for ducks and geese, maybe open it up further for pheasants and quail. I’d like market hunting made avaliable for trophy deer as well. And, too, the entire river just as well be opened up for netting all year round – why should only Iowa and Illinois have all the fun.
