Isn’t anyone fishing Lake Pepin? I haven’t seen a post in a while. Tournament or something coming up or is the water too high to go out. I am coming up there on Tuesday and need some good news if possible

High water levels have contributed to a tougher bite. Walleyes can be found in 14 to 18 feet pulling cranks on lead core. Best colors are blue and white jointed rapalas. deer island has also produced average results. No big fish but numbers from 12 inches up to 22

Reports of some light mayfly hatches from the mid/lower portion of the lake two nights ago. Not to bring the mood down lol

Deer island is that on the north end?

Deer Island is closer to the south end on the Wisconsin side, just northwest of the town of Pepin.

Thanks for the response. I just hope the weather holds out next week and we can catch some eaters, not looking for trophys just some for a fish fry for the family when we get home.
