Not a lake but…

    Hows the river bite on the mississippi usually north east of brainard reguardless of the high water? Me and a friend are hitting it opening weekend and him and his grandfather have fished it alot for opener in years past. His grandfather has been fishing it for over 50 years and him around 20. Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated to help me be a bit more successful for the first river opener for me.

    Listen, watch, learn. With the amount of time & experience they have I doubt they will require suggestions from you. There will be no pressure on you, just enjoy the trip and soak up the knowledge the grandfather has.

    Sounds like a blast. More of a chance to see wildlife than on one of the mega-lakes that many will be on-good luck!
