For the guys that love their livescope, me included who will splurge the $1300.00 for the new transducer? I know I will! No details as of yet but it was leaked in the Bass Pro Shop March ad by accident and now on Garmins Chinese site but it is real. Excited to see what the capabilities are.

yep, i’ve been watching the reports about it, it’s legit… Garmin is pissed BPS let the cat out of the bag early, but then Garmin releasing it on thier site is very suspect (no way they accidentally put it out there on their own website) and borderline on purpose to generate some viral publicity/hype…

I’m really curious to see just how much better it actually is since it appears to be running on all existing hardware…it really points to my theory that it’s more of a new paint job release using existing technology that didn’t make the LVS32 deadline for release years ago…Change the external case design, slap a new model # and sell basically the existing transducer at a premium price…

“Reduced Noise” and “Improved Clarity” sound an awful lot like the Color Limit feature just released in the latest software update…

I’m in the market to buy livescope within probably the next 3 months. Will this mean I can get an old transducer at a big discount? Guess I’ll have to see what’s included in the new one before I decide which route I would go

So your saying pay 3k for the live scope plus $1300 for a “updated” transducer? Man this stuff is getting out of hand shock

I’ve been using my buddies which is the newest one available and it’s cool for sure. It sucks lugging around. We leave it on my back seat and drill a hole next to the door and scope from there. No way would I hike around with it.
It is fun to jig under while in the house. I wont be dropping full price on one but I will buy one second hand in the future.

yes, but I would avoid any older dual cable transducers without the stress relief cord connection.

new kits will include the new transducer at a $200 price uptick, for those with the current Livescope, they can buy the new LVS34 transducer for $1200 and sell their old one to recoup some cost…

The videos they have up now area leaving some saying is it really worth the extra cost?

It seems to be clearer and it looks like they have fixed the stitching issue with the difference cones.

Time will tell though I guess when we see someone in a real world setting. I’ll end up playing around with it I am sure.

scroll down on this link, they have video right on the garmin sight. If you also search something like LVS32 vs LVS34 in youtube there are a couple of guys from overseas with a comparison video. I don’t know if its worth going and rushing out to buy though right away.

am i reading this right? a $1200 addition to a $3000 piece of electronics to catch fish with? $4.2k for a device, then you release all the fish you catch? some of you have too much money. lol

Or we’re just plain dumb…. I have 2 in my boat which makes it even worse. I have well north of 10K in electronics in my boat and I still zero in tournaments lol

    Oh well!

that’s MSRP, and if you don’t have a problem paying msrp then more power to ya, I personally think yes it’s silly expensive, but if you’re willing to take the time to shop around and don’t mind buying “lightly used” you can put together a Livescope system for under $1,500 (I did)…most guys will sell their current transducer to offset a good chunk of the price of this new transducer…I use my bundle year round and my kids get a kick out of it fishing for panfish off the dock watching the fish come up and bite their hook 30′ away…and then all heck breaks loose when a very large mark slowly swims accross the screen towards their bait…

I get it, we all like toys. I also like the idea that it helps the next generation of outdoors people stay interested in fishing and such.
it still takes skill to catch fish. like many here have mentioned, they can be catching fish and the person sitting next to them can’t catch a one.

very very true, nothing more frustrating to see fish just staring at your bait and nothing you do will make them bite!

I am in the same boat. I use a buddies and it really makes me want one. I’ve spent 3k on way worse investments. But I’m not spending money on anything till I have the new wheeler

The specs are almost identical between the 32 and 34. I think they redesigned it to space things out and reduce the ghost tree issue, which I never saw. Not worth 1300 imo.

I’d rather have the 9” unit that has HDMI capabilities so I can hook the Livescope to the 42” TV in my Ice Castle. Have to spend another $1200 to upgrade to bigger screen to get that now.

I believe you could buy the LVS32 with black box for like $1,400 now they want $1,200 for just the LVS34 alone……..yikes!!!

it’s basically $100 more for the LVS34 & Blackbox vs the msrp for the LVS32 & black box because the LVS34 kit now comes with the $100 Perspective mount (a waste of $ for those who use 3rd party poles with their own removable perspective mounting bracket (like a Summit). Of course Garmin has the LVS32 on sale now ($1,300) to clear out the remaining inventory… The LVS32 by itself has always been $1,000, the Black Box separately was always $500…

The only difference along with the outer case & securing bolt design is 1″ longer elements, which is substantial and will likely benefit target separation the most…it will be interesting to see how long Garmin sticks with this new ducer and what plans they have on improving anything with it with software updates…I’m convinced it was just a cheap stopgap to maintain marketshare until 2.0 comes out (most likely next year when global supply chains hopefully get back to normal)

If you are looking to upgrade your Garmin or get into one cheap they have the 106 with the 54 transducer at Bass Pro for 50% of or $999. Better processor and resolution then the 93sv UHD.

Reminder that the current software really only adds basic support for the LVS34, wait for future software updates that make better use of the longer ducer crystals to see the true value of upgrading. From what I’ve seen sofar, the range and clarity are about 20%/30% better that the LVS32, thats well worth it imo!

Ordered one yesterday and sort of expecting the order to get cancelled tomorrow. Fingers crossed it goes through!

Some of the orders for the LVS34 are being filled. Still waiting on mine.

Humminbird is also having major issues getting products out so this is the summer to go Garmin/lowrance if you need electronics.

Russell Marine Products has a pretty good comparison video out on YouTube. I don’t know how to post vids here.
