Navionics chip has no added features in new unit

    I have had my chip since 11/17/13
    It has worked fine in HDS Gen2 7″ and a HDS Gen2 9 Touch
    I got an HDS Carbon and now for the shading and depth features to work I get a pop-up on the Carbon saying to go to Navionics and update my chip..

    Called Lowrance and they said that is due to my Carbon has to be registered with Navionics and it should work ???
    reason being that if someone takes your chip it will not work for them

    that don’t sound right to me since I had no issue using in two different units..
    I also used a friends premium chip and it worked fine ..

    the one I have HotMaps Platinum North SD MSD/HMPT-N6

    Thanks IDO fans for any help on this issue
