Got out in the afternoon for a couple hours down in WW. The streams were quite clear, but it was a little cold. We were tossing some small spinners and didnt have a whole lot of luck. In about 2 hours we caught 2 fish, but lost 3 or 4 more due to crimped barbs. Overall it was a great first outing and I am looking forward to many more this year.

You did not lose fish because of crimped barbs!

I agree. It wasn’t crimped barbs. Water temperature and activity of the fish have everything to do with it. They aren’t in chase down mode when you literally add ice water to the stream as has been the case for the last 4-5 days with the melt. I fished on Wed. and had to literally dredge them with my nymphs.

I’d rather hear of you losing fish to barbs than leaving dead ones behind because of barbs .
