Got up to Lewis and Clark tail waters yesterday afternoon till dark. Fished about 6 hours. Stoped at The bait shop on the South Dakota side and got bait. Talked to a real nice guy. Runs a tan tiller crestliner. He gave us some tips on how and what they have been bittin on and where. Said bite was slow. We all went down to the tail waters. Put in on the south docks. About a half mile east of the from the dam. We got one small walleye in the stilling basin by the north wall in about 25 foot of water. Saw 2 other small ones reeled in. A few Paddle fish got tangled up with the fishermen. The guys in the tiller boat stayed down by the rocks on the north side. They said they got a couple shorts and a asain carp. They said they did not see a keeper netted. There was a couple boats over by a fishing dock jigging in the current. There was a few people on a casting wall. We stayed till dark. We did talk to a quite a few fisherman. No one said the got a fish over 14in. Most everbody in the boats were using jig and minnow combos white or chart.Or draging a lindy rig, The people on the fishing wall and on the rocks were using crappie wire rigs and some were casting blade baits. We found out,the guys on the wall do not like you getting to close. ong.
