Anybody in the metro willing to share how much ice they are seeing out there? I’m hoping to get out this week and can report back. I have seen quite a few people on east metro lakes and out on the St.Croix. What are folks seeing out there for thickness?
I would think any metro lake would be walkable (aside from any current areas or springs). I was out last week on a small metro lake under 6”
People are all over Mntka bays
Should be pretty good other than maybe some of the bigger main bodies of deeper lakes. I haven’t found anything less than 5 inches in the North Metro and had 5-7 inches in a bay on Prior last Sunday.
6” in the south metro.
Spotty ice conditions on the East side metro. On the big lakes I would be walking only still.
4 to 6″ in the north metro on island lake. The snow areas have 1-2″ less ice.
Looks like ice making will shut down for the next week or so.
I was out on a lake in the SW metro near Victoria yesterday. 8″ of pretty solid ice with a thin layer of snow on top.
6-7″ on Prior, same on the Mpls city lakes
I measured 7 on Demontreville. Saw an ATV out there.
4-7 inches up on Peltier, havent checked Centerville yet. Wheelers out on Peltier, but it’ll be awhile before ill drive the snowmobile out there yet. I found one solitary spot at only 3″
