mendota/willow creek

with the water so high on the rock river in fort,i headed up to willow creek at the mouth of lake mendota.must have caught over 60 fish in 3 hours,kept 20 in the 7 1/2 to 9in range,not the huge lake mendota bulls,but will make a good fish fry.used 3mm blac wolfgram jig,with purple wedgie,and a spike.when fishing got slow,id change color of plastic,used black and motor oil also,and work just as well

tried it at mendota/willow creek again sun,noon till 3,bite not as good as week ago,but still fish to be had,kept 16 8 to 10 in,caught many small ones,no. 16 black jig,with wedgie tail and spike 4 to 6 in under bobber did the trick,time to head back to the rock river for a change
