H2O busted

I went to get my H20 out of my tackle box on Saturday, and to my dismay, it’s broke.

The top 1/2 of the screen is black and it won’t turn on. Yes, I checked the batteries.

Is there any way to fix it or am I hosed?

Also, if I have to get a new one, will my waypoints be stored on my chip or not? If not, is there a way to get my waypoints off my old unit onto a new one or am I hosed again?

Well, I know Lowrance pretty much ended working on the H2o’s sometime back. I hate to say it, but hosed may have hit it right on the head.
Now as far as waypoints, a suggestion would be sit down with someone else who has the H20 and have them walk through saving waypoints on thier unit and you follow suit.
If screens not working, it would be hard to follow along, but then again, saving waypoints isn’t that hard.
Get a blank SD card inserted 1st.
I’d be happy to give step-by-step instructions later as my H20 is at home.
Never hurts to make a call to Lowrance too, their waits have become minimal so what could it hurt.
    Good luck

Just realized I had one of my H20’s here at work so lets give it a shot.
1st hit power button and wait for the beep.
    Hit exit.
    Hit menu twice (main menu)
arrow down 8 beeps (system setup)
Then arrow right (system setup menu)
arrow down 8 more beeps (to transfer my data)
hit enter (asks to save or load)
just hit enter again (asks file name), arrow down once
    then hit enter.
Last screen message should say saved data successfully.
    Hope this works for you.
Put into computer or other Lowrance prodcut to vefify.
    Again, good luck

Yeah, I can’t even turn mine on. Even after putting fresh batteries in it.

I had something similar a couple years ago. Used the cigarette adapter then it wouldn’t really do anything on batteries. There was some type of majic combination of buttons while powering it on. A kind of cold boot.

Sorry I don’t remember the specifices.
