Fished Thursday and Friday this week, with Thursday being the better of the two days. Thursday was a good day, and Friday started out good but went south in a hurry. Seemed like every where we went on Friday, all we could find were smallies. Best bait on Thursday was a firecracker chartreuse tail ring worm. The only thing that caught me fish on Friday was a chartreuse green core ring worm.

I did manage two new personal bests for Lake Wisconsin, a 23 inch, 4 pound 1 oz sauger, and a 20 inch 4 pound 11 oz smallie. Photos of those two fish are included.

We ran into one school of big smallies on Friday where you couldn’t keep them off your line, and all the fish were 4 pounds plus.

Water temps were still around 42 to 43 degrees. Fishing should continue to get better.
