Lake Superior-McQuades

I fish on Lake Michigan much of the summer for fun but only had a day this weekend so thought I’d take the skeeter and give Lake Superior a try. Launched about 9:00 and went 6 miles southwest. There were about 10 boats fishing this area in 110 to 130 fow. Good numbers of fish on the graph but we struggled to get much action. Got a 6 lb lake trout 85 down on a rigger with a spoon and one about 12 lbs on 8 color out on a board with a stick bait. Both spoon and stick bait were purple. Fished until 3. Other people had about the same action so I didn’t feel like I totally blew it. Very frustrating to only use 2 lines per person as the fish were on the Mn side of the line. MNDNR is so conservative. It got a bit windy for a walleye boat but the mx2025 did fine out with the charter boats. It was fun to see the freighters go by, they are big! The run back to the launch was pretty much downwind at 35 mph without beating things up in the boat. Mcquades is a nice landing. A fun day out in the water doing something a little different. I will post pictures whn I can figure out how to get them from the phone to the laptop.

Great report! It’s amazing how much life is out there on superior. I look forward to seeing some pics.

You should be able to upload photos from your phone.
