John Deere charging issue. Kawasaki engine.
John Deere X570 has issues charging the battery.
At lower speeds it charges properly.
At full or near to full speed, or with the load of the blades engaged,
it drops from the high charging indicator, to the mid point of the charging graph.
I’ve tried changing out the regulator without any difference.

I’m thinking of swapping the stator.
    Any thoughts

Are you sure this is not proper operation?

Grab a volt meter and check voltage at low and high speed. That will tell you a lot. Is your battery going dead on you ever?

If I don’t charge the battery at lower rpm, it will go dead.

If that’s the motor I think it is,I would almost bet the stator and regulator are both bad.
Do a resistance test on the stator, if one leg is a lot higher resistance than the other it is open in the windings.
If you can see the windings are they burnt looking?

Is the regulator grounded with a wire?

Its not the motor I was thinking of, however they are tested the same way across the board.
Several good articles on the net for that motor that will show you how to test it.
One of the pics I saw the back side of the flywheel was packed full of ground up grass and dirt, its a wonder he didnt set it on fire.

The regulator is grounded to the motor, then to the battery.
The entire ground wiring from the regulator to the battery shows no resistance.

The leads to the stator show the same resistance on both sides.

I am beginning to think it might be the magnets on the flywheel.
Is there a way to check those?

    Pics

There was a lot of dirt in the flywheel around the magnets and some on thee stator coils which I have removed with a soft brush.

all the dirt packed in there may of been enough resistance that it was causing it to not charge. ive never heard of magnets going bad
