Northern Illinois Water Temps and Activities

    I have been out on a small lake a couple times in the last week, with some success. Surface temps were only 61 degrees and 50 degrees at 20 feet. The crappies I’ve been getting have their full spawning colors on, and I’ve been getting them over deeper water yet. Most fish are coming on Gene Larew’s Baby Shad. Electric Chicken has been the most productive.

    Hopefully the rain will stop and the temps will increase soon.

    Round 2 coming thru N and NE IA this morning. Look for it to be in the PDC area around noon
