Another question for La Crosse area guys

    I’m looking to get one more outing in before packing up my ice gear and getting ready for perch and walleye. I was wondering if anyone knows what the ice is like on the black river down from airport beach towards the bridge. I’m not optimistic, but I’d love to hear some goon news. Thanks a lot guys.

    Don’t know what the ice is like, but there’s a couple people there every night when I drive home.

    Well that is encouraging . Where about are they? Not trying to encroach on anyone. Just want to know if the area I usually fish is safely fishable. Which is a little less than halfway between airport beach and the bridge

    Fishing there is very slow! I was there a few days ago and got one 7in crappie in about 3hrs of fishing. The ice is very safe yet. They also seined just down from that area and there are some monster cats and sheephead in there!

    Thanks for the help. It definitely was slow. Only managed two keepers. What a nice day though. Got one wicked sunburn.
