I got a 5.5″ cabelas camera for xmas and now I can not see anything on the screen in the water. I put it in the water and I can not see anything. I pull it out and I can see. I set it in the water about 3″ down and put my jig w/depth finder in front of the camera and still nothing. The battery is fully charged. Any suggestions? 
I used to have a camera (VS300) I used on the mighty muddy mississippi. Even on the hard water with clarity as good as it gets it was difficult to know what end was up until you lowered all the way and found bottom. There were some light & color adjustment knobs on the unit that helped dial in the picture at that point. Also, keep the screen out of the direct sunlight. That too can be party buster.
