I fish below the dam in spring and fall and when there’s ice always seems to be people ice fishing between the wall and shore on Mn. side. Just kind of curious what they catch there and if its worth the time. Wife shop in LaCrosse at times, thought maybe I could kill a little time there. Thanks

There are times the bite can be good for perch, crappies, northern and a eye now and then. You will find a clean sand bottom. I like to get in 7-8fow while fishing in there which is closer to the wall. Towards shore will shallow up to 4-5fow.

It is a hit and miss area. You can find pigs one day and have it vacant the next but well worth trying out

The walleyes can be alot of fun down there when they are biting. I have always had the best luck with a sweedish pimle tipped with a walleye minnow or a jiggin rap with a minnow head.
