Just got the huge Clam Bigfoot 6000. Wondering how everyone keeps the skirting from freezing to the ice after a day of fishing?

The only time I’ve actually had an issue is when a bunch of water from drilling holes comes up. I usually put snow on it or let it freeze if it does before setting up the pop up. Other than that a little tug and it lets loose no problem.

I don’t own a hub, but I’d avoid using any wet drilling chips for banking. Especially this year. Below zero will make it a perminant.

When I set my hub up I try to leave the bottom few inches of snow on the ice. I try and only set the skirt on snow, while only packing it in with dry snow as well. Went out in a buddy’s pop-up earlier this year and because of all the snow we got early in the season we had water 3 inches deep inside the hub. Had to chip the ice around the skirt corners to break it free, no fun. Just don’t shovel down to the ice and you should be good!
