I am looking for some advice on where to find some channel cats in the pool 7 area. I have been searching and have yet to find any. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. I don’t mind walking a ways on the ice. Don’t have a 4 wheeler or airboat.

Are they biting now and is the ice safe. If I remember right mendota freezes up late. I have done some research on it before but at 2.5 hour drive I just haven’t went. Would love to go sometime

PM whiskerkev. I am sure he’d be happy to let you know when the ice is good.

There is plenty of ice there now. I don’t know if they are biting. I generally chase perch and crappies in the winter time. Go to governors Island find 30 feet of water and look for hooks where the Yahara dumps in. Setup tipups and automatic fishermen if you have some.
