Rubber reel seats

    I’m not sure if thats the correct name for them but where can you buy the rubber reel seat/holder things for ice fishing rods? I was at Gander and they said they don’t carry them.

    Yeah the black ring reel holders similar to the ones on this rod.

    Those in the above picture are called “slip rings” I don’t think you will find rubber slip rings. The only ones I have seen are either metal or graphite material. Check on line under rod building and you should be able to come up with several suppliers.

    Some guys are using thick rubber “O-rings” to hold the reel directly against the rod handle. Those can be ordered on-line as well.

    Are you referring to the small round rubber bands?

    If so, I purchased 100 for $1.89 @ FF

    They call them castrating bands.

    They work awesome!

    Thank you everyone, I live fairly close to FF and this gives me a chance to ask the employee where the castrating bands are

    Try Cold Snap Outdoors. Those suckers are not easy to get on a handle but man do they hold awesome.
