I recently exchanged my showdown troller for a hummingbird ice 35. I originally got the troller in hopes that it would serve as a primary unit and a depth checking tool. After fishing with it several times ive come to the conclusion that it should be used as a scouting tool only. You can’t fish with it on the run unless you have the performance pack and even then it is a little flimsy. Also, when hole hopping the transducer cable falls out of the arm alot.I have had alot of problems marking my jig, fish, and exact depth. Ive also noticed that it performs very poorly in shallow water.
The Hummingbird ice 35 has been excellent so far. Dual beam function, clear object identification, and no interference with other machines makes for effective fishing. I also like the bigger display. just my 2 cents.
