RED RIVER GREENBACKS

The Red River here in Manitoba is producing some big greenback walleyes lately, just caught my personal best last Friday morning… a 32″ beast that weighed 14lbs. Needless to say it was a heart stopping fight to get her head up an 8″ hole. Ice conditions are great 12″ and you don’t need to go far to find a spot to fish, just park your truck and walk out.
Big fish seem to come out mid to late morning after the flurry of keeper size that are more aggressive just after first light. My buddy also caught a nice 29″ the same day and we both got a 26″ which seems average after those big ones come through.

No kidding I had the shakes for quite a while after we let her go…even my buddy who took the picture was shaking
Let me know if you guys are headed up here, we’ll see if we can crack the 33″ mark.
