I saw one on Monday 50 miles North of Mille Lacs. First one I have ever seen in Minnesota. Got me thinking…Are badgers common in Minnesota ? Is it rare to see one in that part of Minnesota ? Pretty cool though …RR

I’m pretty sure they are as common here as anywhere. Since they are so rare to actually see its hard to make that determination from personal experience though.

I saw a road kill badger near my house in Farmington this spring.

First one I’d ever seen in my life (40 years old)

I saw a roadkill by my house in Rochester last August. And while doing a job at the airport last summer the airport crew have traps set out and they told me they generally get anywhere from 2-7 every year.

I didn’t think they were that uncommon in MN. They just aren’t a visible animal so unless you’re really looking you don’t see them. My dogs found one behing our old house just north or Rochester. I’ve seen others ones around SE MN also.
