Slow! The week before they caught some nice Crappies in the same place we tried this weekend Second island from where we drove on .(Just south of Ceder Island?) and we did’nt have much for luck! We set up around 24 feet and as expected….right at dusk they came in. Problem was none of them were hungry! They’d come up and look and go right back to the bottom. Tried whole minnows,Heads, Waxies, Different jigs and sizes, They just would not hit it! So we went back to the cabin at about 9:00 and played Eucher and Watched Fletch,Caddy Shack, and Blazing saddles. Oh yeah….and drank alot of Soakers@!
P.S.THE FISH ARE SECONDARY WITH THIS GROUP OF GUY’S!
February 3, 2004 at 1:31 pm #291276The walleye bite remains very good and the crappie bite is starting to pick back up. With the last cold snap the crappies shut right down, but I am hearing reports of good numbers coming in again.
The catfish bite remains the same, fairly good. The fish are still in deep water and will be for the next month and a half. Look for them suspended off the bottom over the deep water.
