Hooks and Weeds

I was just wondering can casting a bait off the weeds where maybe 1 in 3 cast ends up in pulling thru the weeds eventually dull your hooks. I realize a hook is usually made of steel and a weed is a plant. But there is some friction there and after hundreds of cast I wonder if the weeds can eventually wear down the point of the hook? Probable not but I wanted to hear what the experts had to say.

I cut 3mil plastic with razors almost daily and I always curse how after awhile it dulls the razor, maddening.

Rocks, wood, weeds, fish, docks, whatever I’m bangin my lure through I check on the sharpness as often as needed. Weeds go a bit longer, but still gets checked.
