Helix 10 ping speed

    Does anyone know if the ping speed can be manually adjusted or does it just stay in auto on Helix 10 GN2?

    Keep it around the speed of your boat. Set to 2-3 if traveling at 2 mph.

    With Humminbird it is called chart speed it`s the same thing as ping speed in Lowrance.

    If I am looking strictly ( I don`t care about a pretty picture ) for fish I always have my chart speed much faster then boat speed especially using SI as it elongates the fish and makes them easier to pick them out.

    I believe Humminbird adjusts the sonar ping rate automatically based on depth and sonar frequency. It automatically adjusts to the highest workable ping rate, and is not user adjustable.

    Chart speed is a setting that determines how quickly the sonar image scrolls across the display, separate from ping rate. As mentioned, it’s typically set to the same or +1 to your speed for the cleanest images, and you can increase it to elongate or exaggerate them.
