Can anyone recommend a good quality HB 1199ci mount for a Skeeter WX1880 dash set? Was thinking of a RAM swing arm (horizontal), but I am not sure this would fit that large screen unit behind the windshield. I’m replacing an old Lowrance unit that was on a 1.5” RAM ball mount. That RAM mount never really held tight, so I’d like something better/stronger this time around. What works best?

I put my 1199 on the ‘D’ ram mount (2.25″ ball) on my lund last year. I was never out in anything more than about 2 footers but it never moved.

I had the 2 1/4 ram ball for my 997. Switched to an 1198 and didn’t care for the mount with the larger screen. Switched to a Ram swing arm and am very pleased. (WX 1850)

If that dash is setup like the MX, i have a large ram mount 2.25 ball with no issues however it at a 90deg sticking straight out to fit the 1198 behind the windshield.

However if i was to do it over a mount like the one listed above or a cisco mount with an extension arm to get the unit to fit with the glass as well have a good mount point on the dash.

At SBC the majority of the locators we rig go on the ram swing arm on WX’s and they work great. On a lot of those boats there’s really only one place you can put the mount and it works out well. Most of the other solid mounts like the Cisco mounts will also fit just fine.

I went with the big RAM D 2.25 ball for my 999, I like the infinite adjustability of the RAM mount vs other mounts…I should note that I do NOT fish big water

Do you recall what length and size bolts you used for the stabil mount? I used 1/4 for the base but don’t have nothing small enough to fit where the base mounts to the plate. Rather than pull it off and take it with to the hardware store hopefully someone remembers. Nothing on the website thanks

I drilled mine out to fit a 1/4″ stainless bolt, washer and nylon locking nut.
The picture will show both sides of my mount but on two different HB’s 998 & 1198

I plated the base attachment to my boat on the under side to give some mass to the mounting for strength and stability.

Thanks guys. I think drilling it out is the best option.
